Introducing the Syllabus Series
A self-guided, literary workshop about classic children's literature.
I love to go deep into subjects but often found that, although I had the best intentions to read ALL the books and watch ALL the movies about topics that interested me, I often lost steam and would abandon the project. I found myself wishing I had the structure and accountability I used to have when I was studying literature in college.
Then I stumbled onto the idea of creating syllabuses for myself and I found I was much more likely to complete my personal studies when I had a plan laid out for my studies. I became my own literature professor. And now I’m sharing my syllabuses with you.
Each quarter, I’ll release a new Syllabus and invite you to join me each week, for 4 weeks, as we study together. Here’s how it will work:
-At the beginning of the month, you will be able to download your syllabus. Topics will be focused on all things books and literature.
-Each week, you’ll get a new email, reminding of you of the homework to do and inviting you to leave comments on what you learned that week.
I hope that sounds fun to you! I can’t wait to get started. The first post goes out tomorrow to my paid subscribers. If you aren't a paid subscriber yet, I hope you will consider signing-up.
I'm laughing to myself because I'm just now getting to this and I think the 4 weeks are up. Sorry. I love the idea, but life has been a bit nutty for me. I think you are correct that unless we make an actual plan for how to spend our time, our time will just slip away in random ways. Sometimes that leads to fun adventures but often it leads to wondering where the day/week/month/60 years went.
