I am writing a “cozy romance” novel. While I am keeping it under wraps for the most part, I wanted to give my paid subscribers a little sneak peek at what I’m working on.
Kate begins to prepare for the Correspondence Club meeting after the shop closes. The first thing she does is lock the door and flip over the closed sign.
Kate walks around the shop, turning on the fairy lights that are woven through the shelf displays, Once the table is cleared, She heads to the kitchenette at the back of the store. Kate painted the original 1920s cabinets a creamy ivory color to make the space bright and cheerful during even the grayest Pacific Northwest days. The tea kettle is candy apple red, and the dishes have a red gingham pattern. In one of the glass-doored, upper cabinets Kate displays her collection of vintage teacups and saucers and her floral, porcelain teapot.
