Your Reading Word of the Year
A worksheet to help you find the word that will guide your reading choices this year.
You may have heard about picking a Word of a Year. It’s a practice that many people use to set an intention for their life each new year. They pick a word to use as a guide and a reminder for what they want to accomplish during the year. It can be a very profound experience.
But you can also do it to set intentions for your reading life. Having a Reading Word of the Year can help you pick books to read, remind you to schedule more time to read, even encourage you to join a book club. (And speaking of book clubs, how fun would it be to have your book club buddies do the workbook with you during a meeting and then you can share your words with one another?)
Want to try it out? I’ve created a fun workbook to help you find your Reading Word of the Year. It’s my gift to you.
Be sure to leave a comment a tell me your word of the year once you have it. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
A Chat with the Librarian….
Happy New Year! I hope the holiday season was restful for you. My daughter was home from college and I enjoyed the time with her immensely. I cannot believe how much she has changed in the ten weeks since she left home. It’s bittersweet to watch her grow into a very charming young adult.
We spent a lot of time watching movies, reading books, and eating delicious food. I made these cinnamon rolls for our New Year’s Day brunch and just had the last one with a cup of tea to fortify myself before I sat down to write to you today.
I’m also taking Beth Kempton’s free writing ecourse, Winter Writing Sanctuary. I take her seasonal writing workshops whenever she offers them and they always inspire me. I highly recommend following her-even if you don’t consider yourself a writer. Her book recommendations are always spot-on. I’ll be sharing one of the stories that was inspired from a prompt in her class with paid subscribers soon. So, if you’ve been thinking about leveling up your subscription, now is the time.
I have a lot of plans swirling in my head for this Cozy Library and I cannot wait to bring them to you. In the meantime, be sure to download the Reading Word of the Year Workbook, find some time to pour yourself a cup of tea and (maybe?) heat up a cinnamon roll, and work on it.
P.S. Please feel free to share this post and the Reading Word of the Year Workbook with the book lovers in your life.
