Happy birthday month! I haven’t read “Tom Lake” but it’s on my nightstand. I just finished “Lucy By the Sea” and it sounds like these two together would be a great book flight (a term I picked up from the Modern Mrs. Darcy blog).

I love that, creating "flights" of books, like wine. Lucy by the Sea is on my list. I always love Elizabeth Strout's books.

I had to skip over a large part of this because I haven't read it yet! But I am on the enormous wait list at the library, so hopefully it will be soon. My fave is These Precious Days but I also really love Bel Canto and The Dutch House. She's just such a great writer, hashtag goals. Happy early birthday!

Hey Nicole! Don't worry-I didn't really spill any beans in this review. The Dutch House is so good! I love the cover too-is it wrong to judge a book by its cover?

It's not wrong! Okay, whew, will read the rest of this now :) Oh! Laura! I just listened to a new-to-me podcast today called Everything Happens and the woman mentioned her "dear friend Ann Patchett" so obviously I have to download every episode of that podcast now.
